Plastic for Plants...How to make a greenhouse from plastic bottles.

A big thank you to all the people who turned out to help build the plastic bottle greenhouse at Serenity Community Garden in Phibsborough, on Saturday 3rd December 2011. Those who volunteered managed to organise themselves into separate workgroups which undertook complimentary tasks on a complex project very efficiently. This occurred without much oversight, and any casual observer would have thought that we all knew what we were doing! Even though it was a cold day everyone stuck at it until all the plastic bottles were used up.

The annual Dublin City Pride of Place Awards were presented by the Lord Mayor of Dublin at Croke Park on Thursday 29th September. These awards now feature an Environmental Initiative Category, and Green Communities Groups featured prominently within this and other categories.
