South Dublin Allotments Association (SDAA) is a not for profit group which represents allotment holders and allotments issues with South Dublin County Council. It also networks with other allotments groups and promotes the wider development of allotments throughout Ireland.
Formed in 2004 in response to the imminent closure if the previous allotment site, SDAA has so far campaigned successfully for the setting up of four new allotments sites in the County Council area. It is highlights the benefits of allotments as an alternative and sustainable system of food production for local communities, and how allotments sites, like gardens, can play a vital role in protecting biodiversity.
